A simple repairing lotion made with rich unrefined Shea butter, flower petal tea, Jasmine wax, Jojoba Oil, Black Currant Oil, Camellia Oil and Apricot Seed Oil. With 100% pure lavender essential oil for a fragrant and calming, relaxing influence.
Some people can't get enough of 100% pure lavender essential oil and I don't blame them, It is one of my favorite smells. The perfect blend between flowery and herbally.
This wonderful oil is moisturizing but not greasy with natural anti-inflammatory properties and nutrients that boost collagen production while protecting skin from skin damage. This oil does not clog pores. I use raw, unbleached shea butter to benefit from the most components offered by the shea fruit.
APRICOT KERNEL OIL
This light, easily absorbed oil is not greasy but very benefircial to skin with a nice balance of oleic and linoleic acids and conains Vitamin C, Vitamin E. and Omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids.
This ingredient is often found in hair conditioning and sounds scary but is a sulfate free ingredient (despite its name) that is synthetically derived from rapeseed oil. It is both ECOcert and COSMOS certified and acts as both an emulsifier to bring water and oil together in the lotion and as a conditioner for skin. It gives lotion a powdery soft feel.
GLYCERIN AND SODIUM LACTATE
These are both great humectants, making skin moist without evaporating. I use both because they each have special qualities. Sodium Lactate is more moisturizing and lighter but goes away more easily. Glycerin is thicker and has longer staying power. Together I think they are perfect.
Great for skin is most closely is like human sebum and is therefore very well liked by skin.
Every lotion has to include a special oil or two and I've included several. Camellia is a Japanese flower and its oil is edible and also is famous for keeping Japanese women's skin smooth and youthful. This is in no small part due to its proven antioxidant activity (https://www.mdpi.com/2079-9284/5/3/40/htm).
BLACK CURRANT OIL
This oil is rich in fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties. Dry skin always shows a fall in one very important fatty acid, linoleic acid. Black Currant is rich in linoleic acid and applying it reduces the signs of dryness.
In this case I hydrolyzed my own oats, I put finely ground oatmeal into a high alkaline mixture in order to break down the components and make them more available to benefit skin. Then I rebalance the Ph of the mixture using Apple Cider Vinegar and a dash of Citric Acid. Oat Protein give my lotion a nice texture on skin. Also, it was found that "Sustained skin moisturizing was documented in subjects with dry skin that lasted up to 2 weeks after product discontinuation". https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3508548/
This vegetable derived chemical is excellent at refreshing skin by helping soften the skin and allow other moisturizers to absorb. Allantoin is an effective anti-inflammatory and the reason Comfrey (which has a lot of natural allantoin) has excellent healing capabilities.
